Engagement in Easter Germany
When?
On Thursday, 21st of March 2024 from 5pm til 7 pm
What?
Civil society interaction in the eastern German states has long been characterised by migrant initiatives and associations. Be it the cultural initiative, the sports club, the youth group, the politically active or the numerous people involved in the traditional charitable organisations, – without people of different nationalities, cultures, languages and religions, voluntary work would be poor.
On 21st of March 2024, the Houses of Resources from Eastern Germany would like to give the word to migrant associations from the new federal states whose projects and ideas have enriched social interaction in recent years. The aim is to specifically show different perspectives in order to reflect the diversity that is insufficiently represented under the umbrella term “migrant engagement”.
Invited experts with input:
- Rudaba Badakhshi – regional coordinator in the East, Projekt Gemeinsam MUTig from
DaMigra e. V. - Özcan Karadeniz – managing director of the umbrella organisation of Saxon migrant organisations
Invited migrant groups and associations:
- Aram Badr – Syrian-German Cultural Association e. V. Magdeburg
- Nader Raslan – Syrian Cultural Association e. V. in Erfurt
